All the Stars in the Sky this Christmas

This is a perfect picture book for Christmas, and a great addition to the Christmas Eve box if your family has that tradition. We do this every Christmas in our home - the box holds a new pair of PJ's each for the kids, a family movie to share, sweet treats to eat, oats for the reindeer and a story to enjoy at bedtime :) Even as they've got older, they still look forward to this special family night and I wonder if we'll still be doing it into their teenage years!

The Girl Who Stole The Stars is the story of a little girl who loves the stars. She loves them so much that she would love to have one of her very own, so when gifted a magical ladder she climbs all the way up to the night sky to claim one! Home with her special star she showers it with love and adoration but - displaced from it's natural home and no longer wild and free the star stops shining, and the little girl is convinced her star is lonely and just needs some friends, so plucks another star from the sky and another.....with almost disastrous results for the children of the world on Christmas Eve! What can she do to fix things before it's too late?

A gentle tale of love, and knowing when to let things be as they are for everyone to share and enjoy. Because some things are just not meant to be owned are they? For me as an adult reader there was the opportunity to think about how we can sometimes act without thinking about the consequences, but there's still an opportunity to put things right once we realise we've made the wrong choice. But for younger readers it will undoubtedly be simply a beautifully told Christmas tale, saturated with colour and light, and a little Christmas magic!
