A Dragon-Tastic Tale of Friendship

Rory And The Snack Dragons is the first book in a brand new chapter

book series for 6 to 9 year-olds. This funny, magical story from debut

author Louisa MacDougall is about about the unlikely friendship

between Rory, a dragon outcast who likes to eat bicycles, and Flora, a

plucky princess who loves to ride them.

Rory is very different from the other dragons. Whilst they love to spend their days hunting and eating princesses, Rory would rather crunch down on a lovely shiny bicycle, which makes him something of an outcast with his clan.

Faced with a terrible flightless future - a punishment laid down by the head dragon, Rory has one day to get his affairs in order when he meets Flora, a young girl who is set to change the lives of the dragons forever.

Beautiful themes run throughout this story of friendship, caring for nature and appreciating the joy that our individual differences can bring to our lives when we take time to notice and appreciate others.

If you love the BFG you will love this story. The first in a new series it will be a popular series with new chapter book readers. Weaving a wonderful undercurrent of care and friendship together with humour to make a beautiful story for young readers, beautifully brought to life by illustrator Giulia Cregut :)
