Author Peter Millet takes familiar nursery rhymes and reimagines them in a new setting. His latest picture book reimagines 'The House That Jack Built' into 'The Ship that Jack Built', complete with pirates, treasure and sea creatures.
Because the story is written in repeating rhyming sentences it will work well as an early reader for young readers who are getting ready to move on from phonics books to first chapter books, with beautiful illustrations by Sam Cadwell to help the reader decode trickier works.
Each sentence is repeated on every page, making decoding easier and building memory skills.
We will be adding a lovely donated copy from Peter to the first reader section of the school library for our readers to enjoy :)
