Well, I think it's fair to say that this isn't the 2020 i was expecting. Both aspects of my working life have come to a crashing halt, as both involve working with children. In Schools.
As with many, this change to life's expectation, and the resultant disappearance of income - has been rather stressful. There's been a roller coaster of up's and down's in the past week, wondering if we will be able to make it through this global crisis with our health and home intact, & how will we get through with not one but 2 self-employed parents in the household.
I've watched all of these Millionaire Celebrities, announcing FREE live streamed daily sessions, secure in the knowledge that there'll be a new book/tv/DVD deal to follow - 'Lockdown with Joe' style. All i can think is - somewhere out there there are dozens of individuals, who've been quietly supporting their families with that skill, they've seen their business and income disappear overnight, may now be desperately trying to switch to online Live streamed classes to feed their families. And here you are Mr/Mrs celebrity, FREE Live streaming DAILY.
I get it, you feel like you need to be seen to be offering something to people. But do a video or two, that people can watch on repeat. Do not offer constant free live stream feed that could seriously affect a small business surviving through this crisis. There is LOADS of content and offers out there right now - lots for people to do, they don't need celebrity daily content too. I know many self-employed people that will lose their family home if this shut down does not pass quickly enough. Please, I beg you - give them a fighting chance of retaining customers, and a USP of Live Stream. You don't need the money. They do.
Please support self employed people to make it through this crisis. If you have a friend who's trying to transition to online, share their posts, tag a friend you think might be interested. We are all in a position to help our friends and local small businesses at this time.
Be the rainbow in someone's cloud today.
