Watch out for the Tiger!

Can kids still use their imagination? In a world where they are bombarded with stimulus from faced paced TV shows and video games, how much opportunity to they have to simply be, and create an entire world of wonder to enjoy with their own imagination.

This beautifully illustrated book explores just that. Nora is bored when she finds herself spending time at her Grandma's house. 'There's nothing to do here, Grandma' she states matter-of-factly. Even her toy giraffe Jeff is bored.

So Grandma suggests that she goes outside to explore the garden, and find the Tiger she saw out there earlier. Of course Nora is not impressed, there's definitely no tiger and she's far too old for silly games, but as she starts to wander she slowly discovers wonder upon wonder hidden in her Grandmother's garden. Are they really or imaginary? Is she real?

This book is so beautifully illustrated and encourages the modern child to look beyond their electronics to create their own worlds of wonder. There can be so much excitement in our own back gardens if we can only open our minds to the possibilities. Surely a perfect story book for the current lockdown situation - read the story with your child, then pack a drink, snack, toy binoculars, notepad and pen and go on an adventure, around your own garden, or on your daily walk to see what amazing things your imagination can discover!
